In 1940, Henry Hugh King and his wife Florence arrived as tenants and then purchased the farm in the early 1960’s from the landlord. Anthony, their son joined the business when he left school and ran the farm along with his wife Ann until his death in 2011 after which his eldest son James and wife Anna took over.
The farm consists of 470 acres of land which is split fairly evenly between cereal cash crops, such as winter wheat and maize, and permanent pasture which is managed for grazing beef cattle. We rear 500-600 cattle per year for Pathway Farming, who supply top quality Aberdeen Angus beef to Marks and Spencer - watch their video filmed at our farm below. Pigs are also contract reared for Waitrose and other outlets in large straw yards.
